20% Less CO2e by 2030

Saving CO2e With Yearly 45 Million m2 Facade Insulations Across Europe

Baumit insulation is applied on an impressive 45 million square meters to European facades. Each square meter of insulation acts as a powerful environmental champion, saving a remarkable amount of CO2e. The carbon dioxide savings achieved by just one square meter of insulation equals the oxygen production of two trees over a year. However, the CO2e savings don’t end there; they multiply each year over the entire lifetime of each insulated building.

Each square meter of insulation installed acts as a powerful environmental champion, saving a remarkable amount of CO2e. The carbon dioxide savings achieved by just one square meter of insulation equals the oxygen production of two trees over a year. However, the CO2e savings don’t end there; they multiply each year over the entire lifetime of each building we insulate.

Insulating a house is a sustainable choice that pays dividends over its entire lifespan. CO2 savings add up year after year: By minimizing energy consumption for heating and cooling, insulation significantly reduces CO2 emissions, making a positive impact on the environment for years to come. It’s an investment in both comfort and sustainability.

GO2morrow is our attitude to think beyond generations.

It is our claim to shape the future positively.

It is our incentive, as leading manufacturer of building materials in Europe, to show ecological, economic and social responsibility at all our locations in 24 countries.

GO2morrow isn’t just a label; it’s a commitment, a mindset, and a catalyst for change. It encapsulates the very heart of sustainability at Baumit. More than products crafted from recycled materials or initiatives aimed at resource conservation and CO2e reduction, GO2morrow is an ethos, a powerful force driving us towards a brighter, more sustainable future.

It’s a promise to ourselves, to our community, and to the planet. It signifies a dedication to leaving a legacy of stewardship for generations to come. Through GO2morrow, we’re not just building structures; we’re building a better world, one sustainable step at a time. Join us in this journey towards a future where every choice, every action, makes a lasting, positive impact. Together, we’re redefining what’s possible, and embracing tomorrow, today.

20% Less CO2e by 2030 is The Main Go2Morrow Goal

Our main focus goes to upgrading our product recipes and optimize them in order to reduce the amount of CO2e per produced ton. We achieve this by continually adjusting our recipes, embracing environmentally friendly binder alternatives, and prioritizing the use of recycled packaging materials. The constant reduction of the size of the Group’s CO2e-footprint is strictly monitored and compared to the estimated CO2e-reduction per year.

Environmental goals

By focusing on saving natural resources and minimizing our carbon footprint, we aim to create a better world for the generations to come. Join us as we work towards our three important goals for a greener future by 2030.

What does sustainability mean at Baumit?
Our ultimate vision is as a leader in sustainable construction material production can be summarized in our main goal to cut our CO2e emissions per produced ton by 20% by 2030. We have set an ambitious goal of reducing energy consumption or switching to green energy during product manufacture by a remarkable 10% as well as achieving a 10% circular practice rate throughout Baumit. But our efforts do not end there but extend into social and economic aspects.
What steps is the Baumit Group taking to address CO2e?
It is our goal to reduce our CO2e footprint by 20% per produced ton by the year 2030. We rely on product innovations from the field of zero kilometer materials. We are saving transport kilometers through smart logistics. Vehicles are replaced by conveyor belts and distances are shortened. We modernize inefficient plants and promote the use of renewable energy. Product recipes are optimized in order to reduce the amount of CO2e, components are exchanged and environmentally friendly alternatives are used.
Is there a plan to reduce energy consumption during product manufacture?
We have set an ambitious goal to reduce energy consumption or switch to green energy during product manufacture by an impressive 10% by 2030. This involves a comprehensive optimization of our entire power mix, resulting in a reduction in dependence on fossil fuels. We're actively investing in renewable energy infrastructure and technologies to align our operations with our sustainability goals.
How does Baumit contribute to a circular economy through its product offerings?
At Baumit, we are embracing different principles from the cradle-to-cradle concept to self-dissolving bags to building insulation which can be dismanteled easily if no longer in use. All these aspects are vital for an effective circular economy and resource conservation and for reaching our goal of reaching 10% circular practices through Baumit by 2030.
Why are you referring to CO2e in your goals?
While carbon dioxide (CO2) plays a significant role, there's another metric that simplifies this complex equation. Meet CO2e. It's like a universal language for greenhouse gases. Instead of getting lost in the details, it lets us compare them based on how much they contribute to global warming. This means we can work together more effectively to reduce emissions and make a positive impact on our planet.
